Wednesday August 26th was the first day of school. When I asked them how they felt about going back to school James responded with a "I don't care. Sure" Kenzie, "I just hope I don't have classes with all those kids that don't do anything and make it hard to pay attention. And it's going to be weird having James in one of my classes" Cami was very excited to get back. "I'm bored and can't wait to be busy again." It's great to see them still love school. Cami is still jumping up and down with the excitement of school, but is adding "It will be very weird to see my teacher so often." Her teacher lives in our neighborhood. Olivia was a little worried, and very excited about this year. She was all ready for her first day of 1st grade, which was actually a meet and great with the teacher, she was up and ready at 7 am and didn't meet with her teacher until 10:45. But the next day when it came time to leave she warmed me with big hugs and kisses and kept asking if I'd be there to pick her up. Now that she's had a few days of school. She loves it. She brings home her homework, excited to start it.

With all 4 kids in school all day I'm finding a lot a "quite time". It sure sounded great last year and even 2 or 3 years ago when I still had at least one home most of the day, but now that I spend up to 7 hours with out the kids around, it's lonely. I'm sure I'll find myself doing all the projects that I started but never finished, (I tend to do that, a lot). It will take some time to get use to the quite, but I'm hoping to fill many of those days by helping at the elementary school.

Pictures at the Wedding

My Brother Jesse was married almost 3 weeks ago. (o.k. so I'm slow, or maybe I'm busy or maybe it's just both) During the reception I was able to take several pictures including this one that I'm going to print and put on my wall.
Then I was able to get James to stand and "pose" for me so I could snap these two.
I also snapped this shot of Kenzie.
Cami grudgingly let me take these shots and I think they turned out wonderful. I don't know why she was so reluctant.
And Of course we can't forget Livi. She was so (and always is) interested in having her picture taken that she even danced with the Groom (her uncle Jesse) so that she could have her picture taken.

Fishing at Current Creek

Last Tuesday we took the day and went fishing. It was a beautiful day, although quite breezy. As the day turned into evening the wind settled and the beautiful day became gorgeous. This is the beautiful panoramic view of current creek reservoir.

As the sun continued to set behind us the fishing picked up.
Throughout the day we had several hits that never stuck. We learned that the moss near shore was creating a slack in the line allowing the fish to nibble and not hook themselves. After Mark caught this beautiful Tiger trout we assumed that most of out "hits" were from these beautiful, but small fish.

Shortly after Mark caught this beautiful fish I hooked into this
large cut throat. While it may not have been as beautiful as the
tiger it was very tasty and an exciting catch that caused us to stay and extra 45 minutes making it 8:30 p.m. Before we left the lake.
The entire day fishing was slow, but the ride home was full of color as the sun set casting an orange glow across everything. We stopped to look back on the lake and caught this beautiful view. Then we saw several of these small, but beautiful deer, even two baby fawns, still with their spots walking the mountain side with their
mother. The ride home became very eventful as we changed lanes to avoid a deer on the right side of the road only to quickly serve into the farthest left lane and avoid to elk crossing the road. I don't think my heart left my throat the entire ride home. While Livi and Cami fell asleep, I know I was wide awake as I kept my eyes open for any other creatures that may want to cross the road as well. I think from now on I will talk Mark into staying the night or leaving earlier. I'm not to fond of close encounters.

First missing tooth

On July 10th Olivia lost her first tooth. She was trying to blow up the slider for her slip and slide and out came the tooth. She was so excited, she cam running into the house soaking wet with her tooth in her hand to show me this wonderful event. Her tooth had been loose for a while. The dentist told her a year ago that it would come out soon. So Livi has been waiting for this tooth for nearly a year. No she is playing with the "hole" in her mouth. It's so enjoyable to watch them grow and experience new things, but also sad to see you youngest grow up that quickly.

Wasp's Nest

The girls were climbing the apple tree a few days ago and happened upon this. Of course this frightened them, and as they ran into the house clambering about a nest in the tree I searched out Mark and the wasp spray. Having an allergic reaction to a sting many years ago I try to avoid these things. As Mark and I were trying to decide what type of bee lived in this thing, in flew a large black buzzing bug. Very large and very loud. Needless to say the nest was sprayed and removed from the tree. It now temporarily resides in the bottom of the garbage can and will soon have a permanent home at the dump.
Since the removal of the nest the girls returned to climbing the tree. The little monkeys.
